Build log

Built in one day with Claude Code

I built this portfolio with AI, the same way I work on products: I set the direction, the AI drafts and builds, and I review, correct and decide. This page is the log of that process. The point is the judgment, not the tool.

Everything below comes from the city's git history. All of it happened on 22 October 2026, including the data gathering and first design options that came before the first commit.

  1. 22 Oct 2026

    The classic city

A winding-road diorama: one building per career chapter, a DHL plane towing a banner over the Lisbon district, and a clickable overview so recruiters see everything without driving.

    Commit: f877c31

  2. 22 Oct 2026

    The Ascent: rising islands

Rebuilt as five islands, each era higher than the last, linked by bridges. Main streets with buildings on both sides, India and Lisbon details, a Boston islet for MIT Sloan, a 'What's next' island, a guided car tour, and a Contact Me pavilion.

  3. 22 Oct 2026

    A CV inside the city

Quick view became a one-page web CV, newest first, with a 10-second header, signature results and a print layout, reviewed against the Master Career Doc.

    Commit: b93cfef

  4. 22 Oct 2026

    Design review and redesign

A lead-designer review with rendered options for each decision. The picks: a title card, a scroll story through five chapters, era cards, golden-hour light and a hero-number card per building.

  5. 22 Oct 2026

    Going live at manupratap.com

Polish before launch (a clearer Contact me button, link previews), then the custom domain with HTTPS, and the CV PDF.

  6. 22 Oct 2026

    A second opinion

A different AI (Codex) reviewed the live site from screenshots and a privacy-stripped copy of the code, and ranked its suggestions by impact on a recruiter.

Showing judgment, not just a profile

Wording rules applied everywhere, the Make the Call game, case studies in the buildings, findable buildings with markers for where AI helped, and a 60-second path for recruiters: a fly-by and a CV that reads without JavaScript.

Standing out, final checks and a security review

This build log, buildings that stand out from the ground, a tailored page for each company I apply to, final checks with Lighthouse scores before and after, rings and light beams on every building you can open, a security review by Codex, and a UX and fact check.
